In short: goes off like Schmitz cat. Definitely suitable for tubes. My miniWatt with about 5 W were enough ...
Of course it is louder with my Audiolab 8300 MB mono blocks ...

Seriously: This is not a loudspeaker, it's a headlamp, isn't it? One thing is certain: If you're looking for an extremely unusual concept, at least visually, the "Punk 15" from Blue Planet Acoustic is the perfect choice.
Conclusion: Sound
Okay, it takes some getting used to. And the feeling of looking into a pair of huge theatre spotlights, which are about to dazzle you terribly, doesn't leave you in a hurry. Especially as it is advisable to adjust the angle adjustment mechanism so that the two guns are aimed directly at the ear of the inclined listener. Surprisingly, however, there are no impacts of the unpleasant acoustic kind - phew, lucky me. In fact, I am totally surprised at how "normal" the sound of these exotic constructions is. The power of the large diaphragms is immediately noticeable, voices have power
voices have power, drive and verve, yet the sound is pleasantly calm.
A little too much pepper in the upper midrange? Yes, that's fine with me. That doesn't detract from the sound. The dynamic impression is undoubtedly the one we know from open constructions: In the bass there is no thickening, no buzzing, nothing resonates. Clearly more "crack" than "boom", which doesn't give the impression of a substantial foundation, but on the other hand doesn't produce too few low tones. The longer you sit in front of the two exotic speakers, the better the treble reproduction works. Initially, the sound is at knee height, but the sound perception apparatus adapts relatively quickly and creates a fairly credible illusion of where instruments belong in the room.
in the room. I strongly recommend listening to the Punk 15 in a near field setup. That is, with little listening distance, set up in an equilateral triangle to the listener. The only thing that disturbs is the impression of unfamiliarity, tonally and dynamically it's excellent. Of course, a fifteen-inch coax is at work here. The omnidirectional sound distribution has its limits. For two people sitting next to each other on the sofa, the treble reproduction is definitely sufficient. It's always amazing to me how
convincing these constructions can be in practice, even though they try to take a bit of the physics out of the equation. In any case, I give the Punk 15 a big thumbs up, I'm quite sure,
I'm quite sure that the construction will find its friends, also because of its unusual appearance.
