Actually I had expected that the sheer membrane surface of the monolith, that it pushes me right into the sofa cushion, but far from it: The large caliber behaves extremely well-mannered, especially in the bass. Since you have just a bit of the Upper Basse regions a little "refreshed"Used to the usual low-pitch tuning of bass, then comes this: The Monolith surprised with a rather unspectacular correct, but conspicuously far reaching down and discreet bass range. By that I mean really bass, not the one about what is often confused with it. I am amazed, what was on Tom Jones'' "Did Trouble Me" of it, I had not noticed so far. The monolith requires proper placement, and that should take a bit of effort. Aiming directly on the ear isses in the presence sometimes a bit violent. A little more parallelism solves this reliably, but you have to be careful that the acoustic center is not lost. We have a compromise tooIn the end, I''ll swap the last bit of sharpness for the focus on peace in tonal alignment - that''s a great way to live. This is very important, for example, in the great electro-Funk album "Future Flora" of the Belgian band "Black Flower". The brass can sound wonderfully warm and full - if you let them. The monolith is also in their element in the pithy Betas: Corey, jagged, but with a dash of heat, it reproduces the spectacle. At least in the bass, this incarnation of the open baffles "from the blue planet" is the one I like best - and I''ve heard quite a few of them by now. The broadband is still keino tweeter, he does his job at the top of the spectrum but neat and integrates well into the overall coherent character of the concept. There is plenty of room, with the limitations mentioned above. And what do we learn from this? Membrane area. The more the better. It was clear, right?
