So often you do not see a twelve inch model with a depth of only 78 millimeters!
There is no room for a normal cone - the membrane is completely flat. Against deformations helps a multilayer sandwich construction, which is suspended in a rubber bead.
The almost centimeter-thick membrane has a support plate made of hard foam, coated with paper at the front, with a kind of wood fibers at the back.

A neodymium magnet system in a sheet steel housing (otherwise the basket is made of plastic) provides the magnetic field in which the 127-millimeter voice coil moves. At the back sits a wireless voice coilwhich has been glued to the back of the membrane and is connected to the "spider" in the middle of the magnet system, which bears its name:
Eight rubber bits center the membrane movement, precisely matched by their wavy shape.

The chassis is a pure subwoofer - over 150 hertz, the level drops, until two angry resonances forget any further thought of a broadband deployment.

In the field of application, the Tang Band behaves perfectly: it is loud, noisy and swings out quickly for its quite high moving mass. In bass reflex use, 90 liters are enough for operation below 30 hertz. Closed 35 liters in collaboration with a slight bass boost at about 45 hertz promise ea breathtaking low-frequency performance
