The broadband experts from Blue Planet Acoustic have done it again: Take a graceful broadband, a not ordinary housing concept, vote it all off carefully and the surprise is done. In this case the construct is called "New Needle" . The name already implies that genes of the "Needle" are stuck in this speaker; This is the extremely delicate Transmission Line box that blew a breath of fresh air into the DIY scene many years ago, because here a ridiculously small driver with a tricky case construction delivered excellent results. The "New Needle" tries something similar, but much larger: The box is 1.2 meters high, but not 14 cm wideand just under 12 inches deep - truly needle-shaped, the whole thing. Sonically, the Omnes Audio BB3.5 driver plays wonderfully in this relatively extreme case! Atmosphere and spatial representation have always been virtues of full-range constructions; this one is no exception, on the contrary. It continues with Mark Knopflers last solo work "Trackers": The New Needle presents a wonderfully throaty and just fitting scratchy vocals - so I know that from much more elaborate constructions.
