Finally a speaker you can simply stick under your arm – with a speaker of this size you can clearly feel the difference between Ferrite and Neodymium. In my own four walls, the acoustics of which I know all too well the Thiel displayed those qualities, that define high quality HiFi components. First and foremost they possessed outstanding long term listenability. The speaker played brilliantly poised and relaxed to the extent that even after hours of listening at beyond normal levels there were no signs fatigue or weariness.
...for a box of this size the bass is astonishingly clear and powerful... the upper midrange where many of the annoying frequencies are heard is somewhat lower than the ends of the spectrum one of the reasons for the slight tendency towards a pleasant warm tone of the One Point Monitors. The somewhat louder high frequencies add the necessary details and give the speaker its extreme transparency without over doing it. To the contrary, the information the Thiel speaker passes to the listener generate a breathtakingly realistic soundstage, leaving the imaging capabilities of the speaker as the most significant impression of this speakers sound. The virtual stage between the speakers has a depth that I have rarely heard from other constructions. Musicians take their places in clearly audible positions and remain there as if glued in place. Solo instruments are assume a prominent position while maintaining realistic dimensions. The dynamic abilities of the One Point monitor gives it the ability to reproduce heavy laden Rock or electronic music or large orchestras at high volumes.

Conclusion
Sure – 700 Euro for a 2-way, can leave one a little puzzled. For that money you get s chassis that when it comes to imaging doesn’t really have any serious competition....

The SCS3S and SCS3 were both awarded High-End Status. The Neo follows in those footsteps and is more than capable of keeping up with the Ferrite brothers. A further advantage is that the technical data is similar enough to its predecessors that the previously developed cabinet designs will also work with the Neo.
The crossover needed some reworking but this is doable with a few components. When it comes to the sound the NEO. The NEO certainly shares the same level as tis brothers but through the more harmonious sound in general gains a few plus points.
In spite of the extra efficiency the lowest available frequency the same. All things considered the Neo Version of the One Point Monitor is an improvement over the old.
