The Pipe-SiX amazes with its seemingly effortless ability to produce bass in a way we were only used to from a significantly larger speaker.
The woofer from Tang Band, W6-623C has one of the widest frequency ranges we have seen in its size and therefore can be effectively coupled with small tweeters. The first class build quality and consistency with a stiff aluminum cast basket, a lightly treated paper cone, resonance optimized dust cap, vented spider and high sensitivity.
The tweeter TB 28-847S is a long time seller in Tang Band Program. It is a 28 mm silk dome with small front plate, Neodymium magnet, reflection free plastic enclosure, low resonant frequency and ferro-fluid. It didn't take long to figure out that these two chassis belong together. The chassis enjoy an unencumbered harmony with another and unfold a fascinatingly large soundstage that well exceeds their physical size, and they breath life into vocals as well as instruments with more than convincing detail. The fact that this duo is still so affordable in spite of the high quality of the components is a real treat. As speakers go, a true multi-talent whose size makes it easy to integrate in most living rooms.
