Full range speakers ideally represent the balance of a single point source speaker and fully fledged musical reproduction. Not every full range speaker is capable of achieving this balance. Markaudio came roaring into the European market with their Alpair Series, Alpair 5, 6, 10 and the model CHR-70, towards the end of 2008. The excitement and enthusiasm from all over the HiFi and DIY scene as well as the relevant magazines regarding the quality, low price, and superior sonic characteristics of the products led relatively quickly to several great concepts that can be realized with these exceptional drivers. But Mark Fenlon wanted more and so at the end of 2009 he followed up with the models Alpair 7 and 12. And it is the Alpair 7 that would astonish even the experienced loudspeaker designer, dealer, and hobby builder. In a simple and yet nonetheless extremely effective bass reflex cabinet with mere minor frequency response corrections (a tip of the hat to living room friendly design) resulted in a compact speaker that is purely fascinating. The speaker shines with its precise bass, naturally homogenous mid range and brilliantly refined highs. The AP7 is a harmonious package that guarantees long stress free listening and is still capable of surprisingly high sound levels. Currently available in our showroom!
