The fantastic CSW4000 it’s a 15” with quadruple 75 mm voice coil with a 50 mm high winding, capable of sustaining impulsive power of around 4 kW. In order to handle such great power, the CSW4000 is equipped with components of absolute reliability: two Nomex spiders that work in parallel, a membrane formed by a sandwich of 3 layers of cellulose with an overall thickness of 5 mm and a butyl rubber suspension of extremely long excursion. To efficiently move a mobile mass of such magnitude an exceptional engine is required, now here is the record: three 130 mm diameter neodymium magnets that, considering the voice coils in series, supplies a power factor of … 40 Wb/m!!!

The Kit.Chorus is the fruit of our experience in designing and manufacturing professional transducers. We have decided to use a horn, which is extremely innovative in a car hi-fi system, for medium to high range frequencies.
Why use horns
Using horns in an in-car system can solve some of the major problems which impair high fidelity sound playback in a car. In a traditional system, several speakers are used to create a proper “stage” (a high sound front, well distributed over the entire width of the dashboard), which may be difficult to install and may irreparably ruin the car’s appearance. Horns (with their associated drivers) offer remarkable advantages in terms of acoustic characteristics and ease of installation. They have a linear frequency response from approximately 700 Hz up to 20kHz, which means that the acoustic range does not need to be split up further. Installing them is easy: the horns are fitted externally underneath the dashboard and the driver is fixed to the wheel arch with a sturdy, profiled bracket so the car can be returned to its original appearance whenever you like. As the horn is the only source of medium to high range frequencies, there is no loss of synchronisation which would otherwise be caused by the unequal distance between speakers and the listening point.
As you can see, the horn’s dynamics are undoubtedly its strongest point: starting at an SPL of 102 dB (unfiltered) with 2.83 V at 1 metre! Therefore you only need a low (but good) power to drive them excellently and to keep them well away from saturation. During operation, the horn has a maximum impedence of 18 ohm which never goes below 10 ohm, at which values the amplifier can work comfortably, in terms of both dynamics and operating temperature.
